Holding Hands With A Soul-Snatcher: United Hatzalah of Israel Meets Calev Myers (Audio-Visual Presentation)

Calev Myers (excellent article from Diane Bederman) is one of the most dangerous and clever missionaries in Israel. He is so toxic that even the most unscrupulous Jews on the scene today who openly cavort with Hayovel and other missionaries wouldn't dare align themselves with him. And yet somehow, United Hatzalah of Israel managed to step into this viper's nest, when they joined his upcoming ARISE Conference as a summit partner. Even more disturbing is that the flyer lists Hatzalah's Dov Maisel's as a speaker. I have a lot more to write about Calev Myers and Hatzalah's shameful behavior. In the interim, I will share some links on Myers from  JewishIsrael.

As soon as I became aware of this shocking story, I contacted Hatzalah. Out of respect for their excellent work, I tried to keep everything quiet with the hope that Hatazalah would do the right thing and extricate themselves properly from the event. I was disappointed in a way that I can't even begin to describe. While Hatzalah claims to have exited the event, they have failed to make a public statement on the matter, nor do they have a sensible explanation for why they still remain on the flyer. The event is 14 days away and Hatzalah still doesn't seem to understand the severity of their actions with this fiasco, past and present. Many have tried to get in contact with them and they've clearly been playing games. I've heard from people with an inside connection that United Hatzalah is playing nice with Myers. Big mistake. So the desecration of Hashem's Name only grows stronger as United Hatzalah doubles down on their mistake. Contact United Hatzala of Israel and demand that they make an unequivocal statement on this egregious chillul Hashem!

Huckabee's Spiritual War With Am Yisrael

For those Jews who continue to defend the indefensible, the following video is yet another example of evangelical missionary Mike Huckabee showing his true face with the mask pulled back. If this is a friend, G-d save us from our friends.

Don't let his heimish southern charm fool you. He may appear charming on television when he spouts nice talking points in support of Israel. Yet only a fool (or worse) can watch these videos and conclude otherwise. And any Jew who associates with this menace, a man who proudly supports and endorses the spiritual jackals of "One For Israel" Ministry, should be ashamed of themselves. Huckabee is the spiritual equivalent of Hamas.

"Fake news!", one clown declared on Facebook when the following video of Huckabee's "One For Israel" endorsement resurfaced. Fake news? The video is featured on their own website, which painfully documents a commitment to evangelizing Jews, including elderly, vulnerable, holocaust survivors.



Another social media nitwit lied when he declared that Huckabee has since repudiated his endorsement when he "found out" about "One For Israel"'s purpose. Huckabee never repudiated anything. And precisely how could Huckabee be duped when his endorsement clearly states that he supports their work in bringing the gospel to Jews (and Arabs). Does the video above suggest that Huckabee was confused about their stated mission? It couldn't be more apparent.

Jews who continue to support Huckabee and wine and dine with him in Israel's heartland are not naive. There are other reasons for their behavior, all of them are shameful. If we had proper leadership today, such public associations would earn a Jew the punishment of excommunication. Shame on any Jew who associates with these malignant characters. Shame on those who abrogate halacha by participating in interfaith prayer and study sessions. 

There is a price we pay for our misdeeds. No one gets away with anything in this world. The collaborators and enablers who empower these predators will one day pay the price for their sins. Perhaps not in this world, but surely in the next. Yet their sins are an infection for our people since they normalize the profane and humanize our spiritual enemies.

It wasn't that long ago when this kind of insanity would have been apparent to most decent Jews. The outrage would have been universal. Yet we live in insane times, and there are no true Torah leaders today. So while Huckabee encourages the evangelizing of Jews, Jews turn the other cheek and fress on sushi with him, while drinking wine from grapes picked by other equally committed missionaries. All in the name of hasbara. All while rationalizing their sins with distortions of Torah passages that would make any Southern Baptist proud.

Never before in history have we seen "Brother Esau" aided in his evangelizing efforts with the active collusion of religious Jews, prominent religious organizations and institutions, and even a handful of Rabbis who give a hechsher to this modern worship of Baal. And we haven't even seen the worst of it. Make no mistake. This is just the beginning.

Hashem help us.

Open your Mouth!

The latest audio post from "Stop Hayovel". A call for decent Jews to open their mouths and expose the outrageous incursion of evangelical missionaries into Israel with the aid and support of fellow Jews.

There are many on social media who purport to give a damn about this critical issue, but they are inconsistent and their efforts are weak. They selectively target some while giving a pass to others, whether it be organizations or individual personalities.

If the problem bothers you do something about it. Explore these issues. Research and find out what is going on. And when you see what will be apparent to any reasonably intelligent person with integrity, make the right decision. Open your mouths and shout the Torah truth.

Those Who Can't Debate Defame - A Response and A Clarification

We at "Stop Hayovel" have several disagreements with many of the participants of "The Judean Roundtable". But neither I nor my colleague Moshe Schwartz have ever called them missionaries or accused them of engaging in missionary behavior. G-d forbid! Those who wish to understand the nature of our concerns should address them with us, provided they have the facts and not the false tales of those who would rather malign than debate the issues.

Those who associate and partner with the likes of Tommy Waller of Hayovel Ministry, Hananya Naftali, Jim Garlow/Rosemary Schindler of Skyline Church, and Mike Huckabee (among other people) should rightfully be called out. After all, this is forbidden territory for Torah minded Jews. Once upon a time this was common sense.

Andrew Klavan: Apostate Jew

Author Andrew Klavan is one of #hasbara’s popular darlings, particularly in Jewish politically-conservative circles. Andrew Klavan is an apostate Jew who abandoned his faith years ago to convert to Christianity. Those Jews who celebrate him and share his material online, speak volumes about themselves. From a Torah perspective, such a person is deemed a "meshumad", and we consider such a person an enemy of the Jewish people. 

Klavan's affability or talent should have no bearing on how dignified, self-respecting Jews view him. After all, this is a man who once did an interview with "Jews For Jesus" (may their names and memories be erased). 

The fact that he often makes good points exposing the godless left in America, or that the kipah-wearing Ben Shapiro frequently shares his material is irrelevant. Klavan is a dangerous person. And because of his likable nature and articulate delivery, he represents a dangerous threat when religious Jews give him a pass on his apostasy. Sanitize such a man, and one of the most important barriers against assimilation will have been trampled.

On The Issue of Interfaith Dialogue

As anyone who reads this blog will attest, my personal position lies entirely according to the rulings of Rabbi Joseph Soloveitchik regarding interfaith dialogue with other faiths. The "Rav" as is well known, prohibited such activity and his thought can be best expressed with his classic essay "Confrontation" and a subsequent addendum. 

In our own times in Israel and in the diaspora, we have seen all too well, the pitfalls involved when Jews with kipot abrogate this most sensible ruling and go off to meet and greet and break bread with Esau. While many Jews involved are self-serving ignoramuses, there are some prominent Halachic thinkers who astound us with their revolutionary betrayal of key Jewish principles. As shocking as it is, the figure of the historical Acher come to mind, which reminds us that even great Jews can choose the wrong side of the road and step into the abyss. Yet upon doing so, they become different people.

 Now and again, it becomes necessary to clarify some critical facts about "hasbara activist" Kay Wilson's unsettling past. For anyone with brains and integrity, an honest analysis of the facts reveals some very disturbing things, which too many Jews would like to remain buried. At the end of the day, the question is simple. If one is dishonest about one's past, how can we trust what they say in the present?
