Don't Give Me Facts! Portrait Of A Jewish "Hayovel" Supporter

This could be any number of Tommy Waller's Jewish friends. You could show them footage of Tommy Waller dunking a Jew for a baptism, and they would argue that he was teaching him to swim. The problem isn't a lack of evidence. The evidence is overwhelming. These sad Jews just don't give a damn. Facts mean nothing to them. And in the face of reasonable questions, the response is defamation.

Ganja Or Geulah

Disclaimer: I do not wish to imply (with the following meme) that Feiglin enjoys the Chicago Green, nor would I give a damn one way or the other. My intention is to highlight how the issue of cannabis legislation seems to be of a higher priority to him than the burning question of evangelical incursion in Israel. Nor has Feiglin clarified his position on the notorious Hayovel ministry. Inquiring voters want to know.

David Wilder's "Hayovel" Revelation

"The head Pharisee in Har Bracha approves of our work!"
Several years ago, noted Hebron activist David Wilder wrote an article where he correctly identified Tommy Waller and his "Hayovel" ministry as missionaries. After assessing the evidence and internalizing Waller's own damning words and actions, David Wilder was honest enough to reconsider his previous friendship and inform the public. It was evident to Wilder that Waller was bad news. The fact that David Wilder no longer comments on this issue today is unfortunate, but he has never retracted his words. And even if he did, what would that mean? Clearly, at the time of his admission, he was terribly disturbed by Waller and his terrible ruse.

Today we have so much more damning evidence on the Waller clan, and yet too many Jews continue to court and befriend this terrible missionary organization. These deluded types are easily duped by false smiles and assertions of brotherly love. Read about David Wilder's candid revelation in JewishIsrael's article: http://jewishisrael.ning.com/page/david-wilder-retracts-on-cufi-article

Here is an excerpt from Wilder's article:

"We spent quite a nice day together, and talked quite a bit. Tommy seemed somewhat upset about the fact that some Jews in Israel suspect him of missionary work, which he denied vigorously. I was a little taken aback by the seeming defensiveness of his comments, numerously repeated. I was also a little upset when he suggested that the dialogue he initiated, also be carried over into the ‘messianic Christian’ community in Israel . ‘Messianics’ are former Jews who have accepted jesus as a deity.  I told him that this wasn’t a very good idea; that these people are very dangerous, actively and deceptively attempting to convert Jews, and that any contact with them was to be rejected. He didn’t answer, but didn’t look overly happy with my comments.  I let it pass."

Commentary: The first notion that something was wrong. Most Hayovel supporters usually bury their heads in the sand at this point and they begin to make rationalizations.

"A few days ago I received information about ‘my friend’ Tommy Waller, that almost made me sick to my stomach. I found information directly tying him to David Ortiz, a ‘messianic jew’ living in Ariel (where Tommy and his family also live). Oritz’ son Ami was injured in a bomb blast, an attack allegedly perpetrated by Jack Teitel.  He was badly hurt, but recovered. Waller posted numerous ‘updates on Ami Oritz’ condition, as can be viewed here: http://goo.gl/EMeMS.  Note some of his terminology, which is frequently used by such ‘messianics.’

The Waller family is also prominently featured in Korean-made movie about Ortiz called ‘Restoration,’ and extremely anti-Israel, anti-Semitic feature, parts of which can be viewed here: http://goo.gl/60m1N."

Commentary: Wilder's gut reaction receives confirmation. But there was more to come.

"However, the icing on the cake is from a movie about the Waller family, that they helped produce. Called, ‘a journey home,’ about 35 minutes into the film: Tommy’s son Brayden says: “we work in their (Israeli’s) fields, we visit in their homes, and we pray that god will use us to have an impact on families we come to know and love in Israel …”
Tommy: “For us, sharing the gospel is not only verbal, it has an action to it. It’s based on relationships, that’s the impact I think we can have on the nation of Israel . It’s just one family at a time or one person at a time. As we’re working with these people, we’ll be able to share with them this jesus that we know, and it’s not going to be something that, ok, we don’t really trust you guys. They’re going to know us.”

This is an extremely accurate description of what the Wallers have been doing here in Israel : building up personal relationships with people, one at a time, earning their trust. They do it quite well. They fooled me!"

An excerpt from the above referenced documentary "A Journey Home":

Shouldn't Yishai Fleisher have a conversation with Wilder?
In light of the evidence, we have another troubling issue to contend with. Zehut's Moshe Feiglin needs to explain to the public why Hayovel supporter Yishai Fleisher is running for a slot in his party. And I don't want to hear about freedom of expression and libertarian values. The Torah understood free will better than any proponent of libertarianism. And no person involved with evangelicals and missionaries should be associated in any way with a Jewish party. Fleisher can rant all day and troll this blog ( he has) about how he is "more anti-missionary than we are". The facts remain facts and if Fleisher won't be honest, Moshe Feiglin wil have to address the issue eventually. Because there is a small army of Jews who don't give a damn that the craven masses are afraid to stand up to a handful of self-serving Jewish bullies whose actions (whether misguided or not) are endangering the Jewish people. I would venture to say that this is a greater issue than the legalization of cannabis in Israel.

Some final questions for Moshe Feiglin, or anyone qualified to speak on behalf of Zehut:

  • What is your position on interacting with evangelicals, missionaries, messianic movements and the like? Do you approve of taking money and forming alliances with such groups? What Rabbi or Torah figure do you refer to when assessing these issues as it relates to your organization?
  • What is your position on Hayovel? Does Zehut support their efforts? If not, how can you reconcile Yishai Fleisher's involvement in the party? Fleisher also has associations with Mike Huckabee (who supports the missionary organization "One For Israel") and was even photographed with notorious missionary Mike Isley.
  • Why is the issue of interfaith relations, dialogue, and associations not addressed prominently in Zehut's platform?

  • Why are there internal rumblings (we are aware of them) in Zehut over this issue, and why should these murmurings not concern Jews who might consider voting for Zehut?
Please answer these pressing questions, Moshe. Because we will continue to ask them. Rosh Hashana draws near. And these troubling problems are the spiritual equivalent of the Arab/Islamic threat. The Jewish soul is in danger in Eretz Yisrael. Hayovel is a primary player on the scene today, and they have tentacles in the Shomron. I would hope that Zehut doesn't decide to ignore and whitewash these issues, and thus perpetuate the scourge of corruption involving Jewish collusion with missionaries.

The Source of the Missionary Problem

The Source of the Missionary Problem- By Moshe Schwartz

I write this in the hope of bringing clarity to the issue of missionaries in Israel.

As a consequence of the State of Israel's tolerance and support of foreign religions, we have the inevitable result of missionizing. It is unreasonable to assume that when we allow foreign worship to flourish in Israel, that other negative aspects of idolatry won't appear. Those who tolerate and promote avoda zara in what they deem to be a democratic State of Israel, are responsible for aiding to the missionary problem. Because the support of idolatry lays the foundation for missionaries to succeed.

A few basic truisms, from a Torah perspective:

  • Halacha opposes the existence of Churches in Israel.
  • Interfaith prayer and worship endanger Israel.
  • CUFI, John Hagee's powerful evangelical organization is a menace.
  • The missionary "volunteer" organization "Hayovel" is an unprecedented platform for missionizing in Israel.
  • Those Jews who promote the fictitious "roots" of avoda zara are harming the Jewish people.

The latter tactic teaches our enemies how to interact with Jews. The most successful missionaries adapted throughout the generations, at times even giving the false impression that they rejected xtianity. Some of these "evolutions"/movements can be seen today in the following groups/ideologies:

  • Messianics
  • Two House
  • Ephraimites
  • Nazerene Judaism

Fact: The "Modern xtian friends of Israel" are just a new version of missionary on today's scene. Because of their clever charade, Jews work with them. The main reason we have this problem is because of Israeli hasbara (PR). This is precisely why organizations like CUFI and Hayovel and so many others are cozy with religious zionists like Likud MK,Yehuda Glick, David "HaIvri"Axelrod, Jeremy Gimpel, Ari Abramowitz, Rabbi Eliezer Melamed, Yishai Fliesher and so many others who've partnered with missionary organizations.

Fact: Mainstream organizations like StandWithUs support CUFI and have even featured their own missionary spokespeople like notorious Youtube personality, Hananyah Naftali. Naturally, hasbara darling Kay Wilson's skates with ease away from her messianic pasdt, and if you raise the documented issue, religious Jews will attack you! Prominent hasbara advocates such as Dennis Prager take a similar stand, as he shows with his many evangelical associations.

Fact: Our own Prime minister(Benjamin Netanyahu) considers John Hagee (founder and leader of CUFI ) a good friend to Israel. The Likud has been in bed with evangelicals for years. Likud leader, MK Yehuda Glick and Zehut's "Golden Boy" Yishai Fliesher openly endorse and support Hayovel.

Today's most powerful missionary organizations work under the umbrella of hasbara. Sadly, most Jews who oppose missionaries have no understanding that their support of avoda zara in Israel inevitably leads to empowering missionaries.  And those who pick and choose which form of xtianity is acceptable, unknowingly align themselves with the enemy. There is no free pass. If you do not understand that converting a Jew is just one aspect of missionizing than you have no understanding of the real problem.

Example: 99% of hunting involves NOT shooting an animal! A hunter first studies his prey.  A hunter uses camouflage and concealment principles. Consider this question: If a hunter doesn't have an opportunity to shoot an animal is he not a hunter?  Preying on Jewish souls requires similar measures. Without preparation and effort, the opportunities will be limited, consigned to the aggressive measure of the textbook street missionary.

Many of us who truly understand the dynamics and nuance of this threat are often accused of, "baseless hatred" and "lashon hara". Those who throw out these accusations are the same Jews who would rationalize xianity in Israel, and provide efforts for these hunters to prosper. To our detractors I say the following: You don't have to fight with us, nor do you have to support or even like us, but when you try to undermine us you are messing with the bull. You show yourself to be corrupt, naive, or both. Because as we show time and again, here at Hayovel: The Enemy Within we document everything and we only deal in truth, however unpopular that may be. Even our sarcasm and unfortunate need to highlight the tragic and the absurd has a bitter point.

Yishai Fleisher calls Hayovel "Settlers in the land of Israel"

Flattering Hayovel missionaries several months ago.
Yishai Fleisher on his show on the Land of Israel Network (starting at 26:37):
"Then, after that, I went to see our good friends, our gentile friends, who have become settlers in the land of Israel.
I'm talking about the Hayovel organization, and the volunteers who come, the christian volunteers who come to till the land, and to pick the vines of Judea and Samaria to make Jewish wine in the land of Israel, and to fulfill biblical prophecy.
I got to see the Waller folks, and all of their amazing volunteers, and to address them a little bit, Malka did as well, and to see their beautiful community right next to Har Bracha in Samaria. Har Bracha is Har Gerizim, the Mount Gerizim.
And check out Hayovel, H - A - Y - O - V - E - L, to connect with them. If you're not Jewish and you're listening to the show, you've gotta come on a Hayovel tour, working tour, believe me you're gonna be getting up at four in the morning to work the fields of Samaria, and you will love every minute of it."
